All heat sources should be controlled with thermostats. Radiant heat panels or ceramic heat emitters are preferred.

Ball Pythons require adequate humidity to support healthy respiratory function and proper shedding. Climate data from regions within their natural range in Africa shows that humidity levels typically average 60–80% during the day and rise to 80–100% at night. Replicating these conditions in captivity helps promote overall health. Occasional short-term fluctuations above or below these ranges are normal and generally not harmful, as long as proper ventilation and husbandry are maintained. 

Ball Pythons eat whole prey animals, which provides all the nutrients they need to stay healthy. Offering appropriately sized prey on a consistent schedule will help keep your snake in good body condition. Below is a simple feeding guide to get you started. 

• Hatchlings (0-6 months) — every 5-7 days
• Juveniles (6-18 months) — every 7-10 days
• Sub-Adults & Adults (18+ months) — every 10-14 days
